October 20, Fineko/abc.az. The largest solar power plant in the region will be put into operation in the coming days. Garadagh solar power plant with capacity of 230 MW is the first in our country, built at the expense of foreign investments in the amount of $225 million.
ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in an article of Energy Minister Parviz Shakhbazov, published in the official press on the occasion of the Day of the Power Engineer.
The article says that thanks to this solar power plant, our energy balance will include 500 million kWh of green energy a year.
"Land plots and potential offshore plots are also being determined in accordance with the executive agreements with Masdar on the assessment, development and implementation of solar energy and wind projects with capacity of 1 GW on land and 1 GW at sea, initially 2 GW at sea and 4 GW at the next stage," the minister said.
