U.S. Federal Reserve has kept base interest rate

September 21, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. Federal Reserve System (FRS), which performs the functions of the country's central bank, kept the base rate at 5.25-5.5% following the September meeting, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the American regulator.

"The Committee (on Open Market Operations, FOMC) aims to achieve maximum employment and inflation at 2% in the long term. In support of these goals, the committee decided to maintain the target range of the federal funds rate at the level of 5.25-5.5%," the regulator says.
