September 18, Fineko/abc.az. In August 2023, the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) sold foreign currencies for totally $93.9 million at currency auctions.

ABC.AZ reports that in July 2023 SOFAZ sold foreign currencies at currency auctions for $272.7 million. Thus, in August, foreign currency sales decreased 2.9-fold.

According to calculations based on monthly SOFAZ data, for Jan-Aug 2023, the Fund auctioned foreign currencies for $1.937 bn (decline of 42.9% against Jan-Aug 2022).
