September 12, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s turnover of mutual tourist services reached $1.1 bn in the 1st half of 2023 (45.7% higher versus Jan-Jun 2022), ABC.AZ reports with reference to CBA-published balance of payments on Azerbaijan for Jan-Jun 2023.

Imports of tourist services reached $488.2 million and exports - $589.4 million. Thus, the balance surplus in tourist services amounted to $101.2 million.

The volume of tourist services rendered to Azerbaijani citizens by non-residents totaled $488.2 million. 71.5% of this volume accounted for Azerbaijani citizens’ costs during visits abroad.

As a whole, over Jan-Jul 2023, the number of Azerbaijani citizens who went abroad grew by 16.3%, and tourist flow to Azerbaijan increased by 43.9%.

In 2022, the balance deficit in tourism services reached $69.4 million.
