European Commission lowers its forecast for GDP growth in EU

September 11, Fineko/abc.az. The European Commission has lowered the estimate of GDP growth in the European Union in 2023 from 1% to 0.8%, and in 2024 - from 1.7% to 1.4%.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the published summer economic forecast of the EC.

"The EU economy continues to grow, albeit at a slower pace. The forecast revises downward the growth rate of the EU economy to 0.8% in 2023 from 1% in the spring forecast, and to 1.4% in 2024 from 1.7% in the spring forecast," it says.

In addition, the European Commission lowered its forecast for GDP growth in the eurozone from 1.1% to 0.8% in 2023 and from 1.6% to 1.3% in 2024.
