September 7, Fineko/abc.az. In August 2023, prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services in Türkiye increased by 58.94% compared with August 2022.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Statistical Office of Türkiye that the largest price increase was recorded for services in restaurants and hotels – 89.31%. In addition, compared with August 2022, food and beverages rose by 72.86%, household items by 58.85%, transport services by 70.24%.
The smallest increase was recorded in the price of apartments. Apartment prices observed an increase by 24.97% this year.
In July, the inflation rate in Türkiye was less than in August – 47.8%.
Currently, Türkiye is considered the 7th country in the world with the highest inflation rate. In terms of inflation, Türkiye is 2nd only to Venezuela (398%), Libya (251%), Syria (139%), Argentina (113%), Zimbabwe (77%) and Sudan (63%).
High inflation in Türkiye has had negative impact on Azerbaijan. Thus, Azerbaijan mainly imports products from Türkiye. The rise in the price of products in Türkiye leads to a rise in the price of these products in Azerbaijan.
