September 1, Fineko/abc.az. In January-July 2023, the Space Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (Azerkosmos) exported $11.1 million worth of satellite telecommunications services to 45 countries.
ABC.AZ reports citing the August issue of the Export Review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication that compared to the same period in 2022, the number of countries importing satellite telecommunications services increased by ten, while export revenues decreased by $4 million (26.5%).
Azerkosmos's revenues from the export of services accounted for 78% of its total revenue.
In June 2023, Azerkosmos exported $1.6 million worth of services to 40 countries.
The top five importers of satellite telecommunications services in the reporting period included the UK with $3.2 million, Luxembourg with $2.4 million, the United Arab Emirates with $983,600, Germany with $613,800 and Nigeria with $472,900.
