Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that foreign currency assets worth freely convertible billions of dollars issued under the agreement with the United States will be used to support local production.

According to ABC.AZ, describing as a "diplomatic success" the release of his country's foreign currency assets, which have been blocked for a long time, Raisi noted that national security revenues should not be considered from the point of view of a party or faction.

He said the freely convertible billions of dollars would be used to support local production.

The US media reported that the released resources will be controlled by the government of Qatar and that Iran can only receive money to pay for humanitarian goods, such as medicines and food.

Iranian officials then announced that their free currency resources would be used for commercial transactions other than sanctions.
