45 currency auctions held in six months

Over the six months of this year, the Central Bank held 45 currency auctions for the sale of SOFAZ currency.

In 98% of currency auctions during the reporting period, the supply exceeded the demand, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank. During this period, the Central Bank's intervention in the foreign exchange market was focused on buying.

The average daily official exchange rate of the manat to the US dollar for the reporting period was AZN 1.7.

The purchase and sale rates of foreign currency set by banks were close to the official exchange rate. Thus, the average daily purchase rate in commercial banks was AZN 1.6955 per US dollar, and the sale rate was AZN 1.7024.
During the reporting period, the manat exchange rate has changed in different directions in relation to the currencies of the trading partner countries. Thus, the manat rate has nominally risen in price against the Turkish lira, the Russian ruble, the Japanese yen, the Chinese yuan, decreased against the euro, the British pound sterling, the Kazakhstani tenge, the Swiss franc and the Georgian lari.
