Eurozone GDP grows 0.3%

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has updated the leading data on the growth rates of the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone for the second quarter of 2023.

The gross domestic product (GDP) of the eurozone grew by 0.3% in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter, according to ABC.AZ .
The eurozone's GDP grew by 0.6% in the second quarter of the year compared to the same period of the previous year.

The latest published growth data were in line with market expectations.

On the other hand, in the second quarter the GDP decreased by 3.7% in Poland, 1.5% in Sweden, 0.6% in Latvia, 0.4% in Austria and Cyprus, led by Greece, and 0.3% in Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands and Estonia compared to the previous quarter.
The GDP remains stable in Germany and Portugal, grew by 0.4% in Spain and by 0.5% in France.
