National Bank of Ukraine lowers discount rate

July 27, Fineko/abc.az. The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has decided to reduce the discount rate to 22%, the updated macro forecast provides for a further reduction in the rate, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the regulator.

The NBU believes that the rate cut will support the economic recovery under conditions of maintaining macro-financial stability and will preserve the attractiveness of savings in hryvnia.

The NBU website says the regulator also significantly improved the inflation forecast for 2023 - from 14.8% to 10.6%.

The NBU expects inflation will slow down to 8.5% in 2024 and - to 6% in 2025.
