July 17, Fineko/abc.az. According to the State Border Service, 918,800 foreign citizens and stateless persons from 181 countries visited Azerbaijan for Jan-Jun 2023 (43.9% more versus Jan-Jun 2022).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee, 32.9% of tourists came to our country from the Russian Federation, 19.2% from Türkiye, 7.7% from Iran, 5.2% from India, 4.9% from Georgia, 2.4% from Saudi Arabia, 2.3% from Pakistan and Kazakhstan, 2.1% from the United Arab Emirates, 1.8% from Uzbekistan, by 1.5% from Ukraine and Belarus, 1.3% from Kuwait, by 1.2% from Great Britain and Turkmenistan, 12.5% from other countries.

72.2% of tourists who came to our country were men and 27.8% ­- women.

The number of citizens of Azerbaijan who went abroad increased by 16.3% against Jan-Jun 2022 up to 791,700 people.

Compared with Jan-Jun 2022, the number of arrivals from China increased 7.2-fold, Turkmenistan – 3.9-fold, India – 3.1-fold, Belarus – 2.3-fold, Uzbekistan – 2.2-fold, Kazakhstan – 1.9-fold, Russia – 1.9-fold, Israel – 1.6-fold, from the USA - by 44.2%, Kuwait – by 37.2%, Georgia – by 35.5%, from the UK – by 34.6%, the UAE – by 22.7%, from Pakistan - by 16.1%, from Türkiye – by 15.9%.

The number of arrivals from Saudi Arabia decreased by 23.6%, Iran by 14.9%, Oman by 9.9%, Ukraine by 6.2%.

During the year, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries increased 1.9-fold up to 385,800 people and from the EU by 40% up to 46,700 people, while from the Persian Gulf countries decreased by 8.9% to 134,200 people.

68.8% of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived in our country traveled by air, 29.8% by rail and road, and 1.4% by sea.
