July 14, Fineko/abc.az. Taximeters are be installed on all cars used as taxis in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this was reflected in the draft amendments to the Law on Road Transport, which was considered in the 3rd reading at today's plenary session of the parliament.

The document states that automobiles must have a special device with fiscal memory (taximeter) and software designed for taxis, which ensures that they account for the distance they have traveled, the duration of downtime, the calculation of the fare amount and informing the passenger about it.

After discussion, the draft amendments were put to the vote and adopted in the 3rd reading.
