July 12, Fineko/abc.az. Flour will be enriched in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that Food Safety Agency’s chairman Goshgar Tahmazli said about this at a press conference on measures taken in connection with fulfillment of the Law on Food Safety for the first six months of this year.

According to Tahmazli, the decision on food fortification was approved by the Cabinet Ministers:

"In this framework, together with UNICEF, the formula for flour enrichment has been defined. As a pilot project, negotiations were held and an agreement was reached with the companies. This will prevent iron deficiency and anemia among the population."
