June 24, Fineko/abc.az. There is decrease in bread prices in Azerbaijan.
For more than two days, there has been decline in bread prices in all markets. So, a loaf weighing 650 g is now sold for 60 gapiks, and not for 65 gapiks.
ABC.AZ reports the expert economist Khalid Kerimli said that the period of concern about grain in the world has already ended.
"After the 2nd half of 2022, grain prices in the world have dropped. Cheaper grain affected the price of bread. The period when grain was the most expensive falls in the middle of last year. The main reason was the fear that Ukrainian grain would not be delivered to the world market, and the introduction of duties on grain exports by Russia. However, after the opening of the "grain corridor" from July 2022, prices began to decline by several percent every month."
According to the expert, Azerbaijan currently meets 57-58% of the demand for wheat due to its own production.
