June 22, Fineko/abc.az. Several stereotypes about public procurement have been formed in Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that MP Ali Masimli stated about this at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.
Masimli noted that the new Law on Public Procurement should have additional working mechanisms so that we can overcome these stereotypes.
“For example, the entrepreneurship of officials plays an important role in procurement. Sometimes officials influence purchases in favor of a certain company. Or an official calls directly and cancels the result of the tender in favor of the company of a person close to him or his own company. This sphere will not work with us if the new law does not lead to their exposure. In addition, they arrange for someone to be appointed to a certain position, and then allegedly announce a competition for it,” Masimli said.
