June 22, Fineko/abc.az. Uber Technologies, which provides taxi ordering and food delivery services, will cut 200 employees of the recruitment department.
ABC.AZ reports that The Wall Street Journal writes about this with reference to a message sent to employees.
The cuts will affect 35% of the employees of the recruitment team and will amount to less than 1% of the total staff of the company.
Earlier this year, Uber cut hundreds of jobs in an effort to cut costs. The layoffs mainly affected the company's division in the field of cargo transportation, as well as foreign operations in the food delivery segment.
In total, taking into account the plans announced on Wednesday, the cuts amount to less than 3% of Uber's staff. The number of employees of the company worldwide exceeds 32,000.
Uber shares rose 1.2% following the trading on Wednesday. Since the beginning of this year, their cost has increased by 72.5%.
