June 21, Fineko/abc.az. Mastercard, an international payment system operating in 198 countries and uniting 22,000 financial institutions, has allegedly applied for registration of a new trademark that will work with cryptocurrency transactions.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant information was published by patent attorney Mike Kondoudis.

He posted a screenshot allegedly indicating that Mastercard plans to develop software optimized for bitcoin transactions.

It also seems that the company aims to facilitate transactions with digital assets by reducing the links between providers of virtual assets.
