May 3, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has no plans to increase the nominal value of the national currency - the manat, as well as to put into circulation new banknotes with higher face value.

ABC.AZ reports that CBA general director Agshin Veliyev stated about this at a press conference dedicated to change of parameters of the discount rate.

"Commemorative banknotes with face value of 500 manats dedicated to the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War were put into circulation in limited quantities. However, there are no plans to issue new banknotes with higher denomination. There is no need for this," Veliyev said.
