April 13, Fineko/abc.az. In 2022, money transfers from Russia to Azerbaijan increased almost 5-fold and approached $3 bn.

 

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank that in 2022, money transfers for $2.969 bn were transferred from Russia to Azerbaijan.

Compared with 2022, money transfers from Russia increased 4.7-fold. In 2021, only $623 million was transferred from the neighboring country to Azerbaijan.

As a result of the growth, if in 2021 Russia accounted for 55% of all money sent to Azerbaijan from abroad, then in 2022 this figure increased to 82%.

But there is a decrease in the amount of funds sent from Azerbaijan to Russia. According to the CBA, if $117 million was sent to Russia in 2021, then in 2022 this figure decreased to $90 million.

In total, $3.62 bn was transferred from abroad to Azerbaijan in 2022, which is 3.2-fold more than in 2021, or $2.487 bn.
