April 13, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. State Budget deficit in March 2023 almost doubled compared with March 2022, from $192.6 bn up to $378.076 bn.
ABC.AZ reports that after the base rate increase, interest payments on the national debt increased by 32% up to $384 bn.
As follows from the report of the U.S. Treasury, State Budget revenues decreased by 0.6% last month, to $313.2 bn. Expenses increased by 36% to $691.317 bn. The budget revenues in the current fiscal year, which began on 1 October 2022, decreased by 3.5% to $2.048 trillion.
The April report of the International Monetary Fund stated that the U.S. public debt will grow by 3 percentage points annually from 2023 and will exceed 135% of the country's GDP by 2028. The IMF predicts that the growth rate of the American economy will slow down from 2.1% by the end of 2022 to 1.6% in 2023, and in 2024 the slowdown will increase to 1.1%.
