April 13, Fineko/abc.az. MP Rufat Guliyev, speaking about the past activities of the Central Bank, criticized the previous period of operation of the country's main bank.
ABC.AZ reports that the MP said that in 2022 financial violations in the amount of AZN 420 million were revealed. It is possible that part of this will be returned to the budget, but it is unlikely, the MP emphasized.
"I think the biggest problem here is something else. I said this during my speech at the meeting. I noted that the state authorities allow serious financial violations. Some of them are sent to law enforcement agencies, including the Prosecutor General's Office, the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General. Every time I ask: "what was the result?", "what part of it went to court?", "what punishment did the officials suffer?" and "have the misused finances returned to the budget?" Every time I ask you to provide us with information in an official form so that we know what court decisions were made on these cases, who was punished, in what form they were punished. In this case, there is some reassurance in society. The society understands that officials who committed violations are punished, embezzlement from the state budget is impossible, it will be a punishment," he stressed.
