April 6, Fineko/abc.az. The Federal Antimonopoly Agency of Germany announced its intention to tighten control over Apple.
ABC.AZ reports that on Wednesday, the agency classified it as a company of "paramount importance for competition in the market".
Andreas Mundt, head of the German antimonopoly department, noted that Apple's "economic power" opens up "opportunities for the concern to behave insufficiently controlled by competitors".
"Apple occupies a dominant position in the market or leads" in such areas as the production of smartphones, tablets, smart watches, has its own operating systems and an App Store,” the antimonopoly department said.
