March 10, Fineko/abc.az. Within the project "Development of entrepreneurship & self-employment in villages", 17 houses belonging to rural residents in Astara, Lerik and Lankaran districts began to function as rural guest houses.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Agency for the Development of Small & Medium-sized Businesses (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy that six guest houses are located in Astara, eight in Lerik, three in Lankaran.

17 rural residents were involved in business trainings, trainings on tourism, management of guest houses, sales, methods of receiving guests, organization of cleaning and hygiene, safety rules in guest houses, catering, management of social networks.

The aim of the project, implemented with the support of KOBIA, the State Employment Agency (under the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection) and the State Tourism Agency, is to promote entrepreneurship in country’s districts, ensure self-employment, support rural tourism and improve the well-being of rural residents.
