February 15, Fineko/abc.az. From today, the IMEI numbers of mobile phones imported into Azerbaijan by individuals for personal use and undeclared in the customs authorities will not be registered by the relevant center of the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that in this regard, relevant notifications are posted on the official websites of the State Customs Committee and the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport.

According to Cabinet’s resolution from 14 October 2013, mobile phones imported from abroad are subject to mandatory declaration at the customs authority. However, until today, cases of evasion from declaration have been identified.

From 15 February, the IMEI numbers of undeclared and unpaid telephone devices in the country will not be registered in the mobile network by Ministry’s center.
