February 14, Fineko/abc.az. In Baku, various construction works are still being carried out in some residential buildings commissioned several years ago, balconies and floors are being added.

ABC.AZ reports that extensions in multi-storey buildings pose a danger.

Although some of these illegally erected buildings have been prevented, a large number of such buildings remain.

During the filming, we witnessed extensions in buildings located on the territory of Nizami and Khatayi districts. Someone renovated the first floors and turned them into catering facilities, and someone expanded the balcony, creating an additional room. There was even a case when a private house was built on the roof of a building near Azi Aslanov metro station.

In this regard, the State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture reported that in case of detection of such cases in multi-storey buildings, the relevant authorities will be informed.

The Baku City Executive Power also noted that inspections are carried out on the basis of information received from the Committee on such buildings. If a violation is detected, these structures are dismantled.
