December 29, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has held a currency auction with the participation of the State Oil Fund.

According to the CBA, $63.4 million was sold at the currency auction on 29 December, which is $4.4 million (7.46%) more than at the last auction. At the auction on 27 December, the CBA sold $59 million worth of currencies to banks.

"The demand from banks at the currency auction amounted to $63.4 million and was fully secured," the CBA said in a statement.

As a result of the auction, the weighted average exchange rate of the manat was formed at the level of 1.7000 AZN/USD.

In December 2022, currencies for $595.9 million were sold to banks at currency auctions, which is 39.8% less than in December 2021. In 2022, currencies for $5186.2 million were sold at currency auctions, which is 22.5% less than in 2021.

In December 2021, $989.2 million worth of currencies were sold, and $6.69 bn in 2021.
