November 17, Fineko/abc.az. In order to promote Azerbaijan's tourism opportunities, an event was held in Madrid on 16 November.

ABC.AZ reports that at the event it was noted that compared with 2021, for Jan-Oct 2022 the tourism sector of Azerbaijan experienced an increase of 118%, and in general, the tourism industry recovered by 50%.

It was also brought to the attention that the Azerbaijani territories were devastated during the occupation, that the Azerbaijani state is carrying out large-scale work to restore these territories and destroyed monuments of material and cultural heritage, including churches and monuments of Albanian-Christian and Caucasian-Albanian culture.

The importance of organization's activities in the coming years for development of cultural heritage tourism, as well as educational, digital and event tourism was noted.
