November 5, Fineko/abc.az. The signing ceremony on establishing the Banking Unions Council of the Turkic States was held in Istanbul, Turkiye.
ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijan took part in the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by Alpaslan Cakar, Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Banking Union (TBB), Zakir Nuriyev, President of the Azerbaijan Banks Association Public Union, Marat Baytokov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan’s Association of Banks, Enver Abdraev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Banks Union of Kyrgyzstan, Tahir Babamuradov, Foreign Relations Director of the Banks Union of Uzbekistan. Besides, the Chairman of the Board of the Georgian Banks Association, Alexander Dzneladze, Chairman of the North Cyprus Banks Association, Olgun Onal, and the Secretary General of the Hungarian Banks Association, Levente Kovacs, attended the event as observers.
The Council will operate under the legal norms of the Organization of Turkic States members, international conventions, and statutes. Cooperation in issues such as the development of digital banking, the fight against climate and environmental risks, and the spread of payment ecosystems are planned within the framework of the Council.
