October 12, Fineko/abc.az. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts a 35% decline in Ukraine's GDP by the end of 2022, but decided to refrain from assessing the longer-term outlook due to "an unusually high degree of uncertainty".
ABC.AZ reports that this follows from IMF’s report on the prospects for development of the world economy, presented on Tuesday in Washington at the autumn session of the governing bodies of the IMF and the World Bank.
The report says that the IMF "predicts a decline in Ukraine's GDP by 35% in 2022", which is a consequence of the ongoing conflict there. The current assessment, therefore, has not changed compared to the one contained in the April report. At that, it is noted that by the end of 2021, GDP growth was observed in the country by 3.4%. In addition, according to IMF’s calculations, the inflation rate in the country by the end of this year will be 20.6%. In 2021, this figure was 9.4%.
