Prices for cars in Azerbaijan’s south increase

August 22, Fineko/abc.az. The southern region of Azerbaijan, located in the Jalilabad district, has only one car market.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Report that an employee of Report's Mugan bureau visited this market, inquired about the purchasing power of the population and prices.

According to sellers, in recent years, the purchasing power of the population has decreased: "Many people are interested in cars. There are many customers, but no one is buying. We don’t know how long this will last."

Buyers also noted that recently the prices of cars have increased somehow:

"Prices have risen by about 10%, which affects us to a certain extent. Along with the southern regions, buyers and sellers from other regions of Aran come here. The market mainly sells cars of Soviet and Russian production. Other cars of foreign brands are less common" .

According to them, the cost of cars varies depending on the year of manufacture: “For example, Soviet-made cars from 1970-1980 cost 2,500-3,000 manats, Russian-made cars from the 1990s cost 3,500-4,000 manats, cars from the 2000s cost AZN 5,000 - 6,000. Mercedes cars are offered for 10,000-12,000 manats."
