15:44 - 19.08.2022

August 19, Fineko/abc.az. By the decision of the Board of the Central Bank dated August 1, 2022, amendments were approved to the “Rules for calculating the capital of the bank and its adequacy”, which came into force on August 16, ABC.AZ reports this with reference to the Central Bank.

During the six months of the current year, the consumer loan portfolio of banks increased by 14.9%. Taking into account the above, in order to ensure responsible and healthy lending, including the prevention of premature borrowing by the population, the risk groups of consumer loans issued to borrowers with a debt-to-income ratio (BGN) exceeding 45%, but not exceeding 70% have been increased by 50%.

In general, the new changes will ensure and strengthen the financial stability of the banking sector against the backdrop of gradually increasing economic activity in the post-pandemic period, as well as preventing excessive borrowing from the population, including protecting borrowers from foreign exchange risk and developing the interbank market.
