February 23, Fineko/abc.az. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will soon start implementing solutions for checking consumer gas meters, Fuad Aliyev, deputy head of SOCAR Information Technologies & Communications Department, said at the Trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution event.

“We know that gas consumers have certain difficulties with reading gas meters. Through a photo of a gas meter taken by a consumer, we can get information about gas use. Image processing is technically taking place,” Aliyev said.

He noted that large volumes of images were taken as part of machine learning: “Artificial intelligence was trained to manage the platform, and now it can make decisions. We received more than 90% of the results during the tests. Naturally, over time we will be able to achieve higher rates.”
