January 28, Fineko/abc.az. The State Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport received a positive opinion from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in connection with the assignment of a code to the Zangilan International Airport under construction in Karabakh.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry that four-digit ICAO code UBBZ was assigned to the airport.

SCAA director Arif Mammadov regarded the recognition of another occupation-liberated Karabakh city as a reliable partner by the ICAO as an important event: "The inclusion of the Zangilan International Airport in the catalog of international location indexes causes sense of pride for each of us. A new aviation hub is being created on the basis of airports built in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. In a short period, the Zangilan Airport will become one of the transport and transit communication centers of the region."
