March 4, Fineko/abc.az. The authorities of Dagestan expect to start the organization of high-speed passenger traffic via route Makhachkala-Derbent-Baku in 2019.

The statement was made by Transport & Road Economy Minister Shirukhan Hadjimuradov of Dagestan.

"Large-scale reconstruction of Makhachkala station is scheduled for 2019 and the near future, the renewal of the suburban commuter fleet and long-distance trains, the organization of passenger traffic via route Derbent-Makhachkala-Mineralnye Vody-Kislovodsk, as well as high-speed passenger traffic via route Makhachkala-Derbent-Baku, with the registration of customs inspection at the point of departure," the minister said.
