October 14, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, the number of procedures for connecting to electricity grid has been reduced from 7 to 2, and the duration is from 41 to 20 days.
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov made the relevant statement during his speech at the III National Competition Forum in Baku.
According to the minister, this became possible due to the introduction of the one-stop shop principle and expansion of e-services.
Shahbazov noted that simplification of procedures, increased transparency of services and disclosure of information on the reliability of energy supply reduces the administrative burden on businesses.
He noted that improving energy efficiency also plays an important role in increasing the competitiveness of the national economy.
The Law on the Rational Use of Energy Resources & Energy Efficiency encourages the introduction of energy-saving technologies, investments in this area and development of new service markets.
The minister added that those measures not only reduce production costs, but also create new opportunities for entrepreneurship in such areas as energy audit and energy management.
Shahbazov stressed that the sustainable and competitive development of the energy sector will continue to remain one of the main priorities.
