October 14, Fineko/abc.az. According to operational data from the Ministry of Energy, total electricity generation in Azerbaijan reached 21,190.9 million kWh in the first nine months of 2026. Thermal power plants accounted for 16,960 million kWh, hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) produced 2,767.1 million kWh, while other renewable sources contributed 1,463.8 million kWh.

Breakdown by renewable sources reveals that wind power plants generated 768.7 million kWh, solar power plants produced 501.5 million kWh, and the Solid Waste Incineration Plant generated 193.6 million kWh. Total renewable energy production—including hydro—rose by 1,051.9 million kWh year-on-year to reach 4,230.9 million kWh.
