October 6, Fineko/abc.az. VNG AG (Germany) is interested in increasing natural gas imports from Azerbaijan and switching to long-term contracts with SOCAR for 15-20 years.

Company’s executive vice president Oliver Hill says they intend to maximize the current annual import volume of 2.5 TWh, which will ensure energy supply to Germany and create the basis for investments in Azerbaijan.

In addition to gas supplies, VNG also stressed its interest in cooperation in the fields of biomethane, renewable energy, hydrogen and decarbonized fuels, as well as in bringing activities in line with the requirements of the European Union regarding methane emissions.
