New subsidies underway in field of animal husbandry and processing

September 7, Fineko/abc.az. New measures of state support in the field of animal husbandry and processing of animal products are to be introduced in Azerbaijan in accordance with Agricultural Subsidy Council’s decision.

As part of the support for intensive fattening, a food subsidy of 0.4 manats per kg of live weight will be paid for live cattle weighing at least 600 kg.

To receive a subsidy, an animal must be born in Azerbaijan or be fattened in the country for at least six months, be insured and slaughtered in a slaughterhouse registered in the Electronic Agricultural Information System (EKTIS).

A subsidy of 3 manats per cattle skin, 0.3 manats per small cattle skin and 0.30 manats per kg of wool is provided for enterprises engaged in leather and wool processing.

Subsidies for artificial insemination and offspring are also provided:

for a calf of the first generation, obtained from local breeds - 75 manats;

for a calf of the second and subsequent generations — 150 manats;

for a thoroughbred calf obtained from local breeding farms — 50 manats;

for a calf obtained as a result of embryo transplantation — 250 manats.
