August 17, Fineko/abc.az. German firms significantly cut their direct investments in the United States to a three-year low in the first half of 2026, as trade policies from the Trump administration fueled uncertainty between transatlantic trading partners.

First-half direct investments plunged by nearly two-thirds year-on-year to €4.3 billion ($5 billion), marking the lowest level since 2023, according to calculations by the German Economic Institute (IW) based on central bank data seen by Reuters.
