August 11, Fineko/abc.az. US chipmaker Intel announced plans to raise $15 billion through a common stock offering to fund its semiconductor manufacturing expansion.
Aiming to compete with foundry leader TSMC, Intel is investing heavily in new facilities and advanced packaging capabilities. Intel's stock dipped over 4% on the news due to dilution, but remains up nearly threefold year-to-date.
Driven by surging AI demand, Intel raised its annual capex forecast to $20 billion and committed to high-volume manufacturing on its 14A process node by 2028. Tesla has already signed on as a 14A customer. Additionally, Intel is allocating €5 billion to upgrade its factory in Ireland.
