July 24, Fineko/abc.az. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated in an interview with TV channel ZDF that the country's ongoing energy crisis was directly triggered by the decision to halt Russian gas imports.
According to Merz, Germany began facing severe economic and supply challenges precisely because it chose to forgo Russian pipeline gas for political objectives.
