EU Launching €6 Million AI-Driven Project to Attract Youth to Agriculture

20:55 - 24.07.2026

July 24, Fineko/abc.az. A new €6 million initiative funded by the EU's Horizon Europe research and innovation program is set to launch to encourage European youth to pursue careers in agriculture. Titled "Farm Heroes," the project brings together 15 partner organizations from across Europe to deploy innovative digital solutions and bridge the generational gap in farming.

Core Initiatives & Technological Integration:

  • AI Curriculum Evaluation: Researchers will first engage young people to map their visions for the future of agriculture. Large Language Model (LLM) artificial intelligence will then be trained to analyze higher education curricula and assess how effectively agricultural training aligns with youth expectations.

  • Gamification & Engagement: The project will explore leveraging popular simulation video games, such as the Farming Simulator series, to spark early interest in agricultural careers among younger demographics.

  • Promoting Diversity: Alongside overall youth recruitment, a key pillar of the initiative aims to address gender disparity and encourage more women to enter the sector.
