July 23, Fineko/abc.az. Ford Motor Company and China's Geely Automobile Holdings have agreed to establish a joint venture to produce vehicles for the European market at Ford's manufacturing plant in Valencia, Spain.
Under the proposed structure, Ford will hold a 66% stake, with Geely Auto holding the remaining 34%. Pending regulatory approvals, the joint venture is expected to become operational in the first half of 2027, with the first vehicles rolling off the assembly line in 2028.
The plant will manufacture a new multi-energy family crossover, a compact SUV for the Bronco family, and two electric SUVs under the Geely brand, while production of the Ford Kuga will continue uninterrupted.
