July 22, Fineko/abc.az. European Union member states have approved the participation of the United Kingdom in a €90 billion loan program designed to meet Ukraine's urgent defense needs for 2026 and 2027.

Under the mechanism, Kyiv will be permitted to utilize loan financing to procure military equipment directly from UK-based defense manufacturers.

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ireland Helen McEntee, representing the EU Council Presidency, highlighted that the move reflects a shared commitment to supporting Ukraine. The decision will enter into force upon publication in the Official Journal of the EU.
