July 22, Fineko/abc.az. US President Donald Trump has approved an agreement that would provide Saudi Arabia with a civilian nuclear program and the ability to enrich uranium.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the 30-year, tens of billions-dollar deal would give U.S. companies a key role in developing the kingdom's nuclear infrastructure, including the possible construction of uranium enrichment facilities.

The US administration believes that control by American businesses will prevent the use of the technology for military purposes.

The agreement is to be submitted to Congress for approval in the coming days.
