July 15, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for international shipping, but is closed specifically to Iran.

According to him, the decline in the number of vessels transiting the strait is not due to restrictions imposed on other nations: "It is open if people want to use it."

Trump emphasized that the restrictions target Iran exclusively: "We are not opening it for Iran; only for them is it closed—both for incoming and outgoing ships."

The Head of the White House also noted that the United States is developing alternative routes to supply oil to global markets. "A lot has happened over the past months: pipelines are being built, more efficient alternatives are being created, including routes through Texas and Alaska," he added.
