July 13, Fineko/abc.az. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the issue of fully repealing Section 907 of the U.S. Freedom Support Act during the opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, stating that the restriction has lost all justification.

Reflecting on the head of state's address, it is reported that this unfair amendment, passed in 1992, was driven by pro-Armenian lawmakers, including then-Senator and current President Joe Biden, which caused significant challenges during the Biden administration.

The President highlighted that Azerbaijan has unilaterally removed all restrictions against Armenia and even initiated the supply of over 10,000 tons of oil products to the country. Pointing to these new regional dynamics where Armenia relies on Azerbaijan as a dependable fuel source, Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Section 907 is entirely outdated and must be permanently annulled.
