July 6, Fineko/abc.az. India's oil companies intend to increase LNG purchases from the U..S, seeking to diminish the dependence on the Gulf countries, The Times of India informs.
After supplies from the Gulf countries were blocked, the U.S. became one of the largest suppliers of LNG for India, providing reserve support.
During the conflict, the main concerns were about the delivery of liquefied gas, so the company diversified its sources and imported from the U.S. to meet its needs.
The supply from the U.S. will help reduce dependence on the Gulf countries and create strategic LNG reserves in India.
In May 2026, the government ordered the preparation of a plan to create a 30-day reserve.
