12:35 - 24.06.2026

June 24, Fineko/abc.az. The CBA predicts further growth of excess liquidity in the banking sector until the end of this year.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the regulator, that short-term rates in the unsecured money market are formed within the interest rate corridor, close to the discount rate (6.5%).

The average daily interbank rate of AZIR has stabilized in the range of 6.43-6.44% since the end of March 2026.

To manage this rate in the context of excess liquidity, the CBA mainly uses 7-day deposit operations, the share of which in the sterilization portfolio reached 88.7% at the end of May.

It is also reported that in May and June, the yield of CBA's short-term notes for all maturities showed a downward trend.
